Also, compose and construct own Jatis for a different context.<\/li>\n<li>Correlate the organic relation between texts (dance and dramaturgy treatises, dance literature including lyrical compositions) and the performance of different genres.<\/li>\n<li>Comprehend the historical, ethnographical, and socio-cultural perspectives of the development of dance and differentiate various dance forms, both in India and worldwide.<\/li>\n<li>Demarcate and distinguish the relations between scientific education and artistic performance, and question and justify their respective schools of thought.<\/li>\n<li>Delve into the allied areas of performance, which include stagecraft (stage design, set design, property making), stage lighting, make-up, and music composition-through technology.<\/li>\n<li>Make themselves into effective Art Managers.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the digital media and create movements\/dance for the camera and distinguish the relation between pre-and-post-production.<\/li>\n<li>Choreograph independent dance compositions.<\/li>\n<li>Comprehend the concept of research and enrich their creative abilities in the field of dance and their allied areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- The course structure provides scope to build up dance performance and scholarship, give insight into the practical and theoretical understanding of various dance forms, and, initiates students into research and pedagogy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>The course is devised to provide advanced training to students who have had intensive training in dance for at least five years prior to admission. It is aimed to give a clear understanding of the dance forms which would help the students not only to dance in the style of their choice with greater felicity, but also to undertake choreographic work in that style; they are encouraged to take up both individual and group works for choreography. The various courses, spread over two years, are designed to create an understanding of the development of Indian dance and dance forms all over the world. Though the major stress is on classi\u00adcal Indian dance (as perceived through the various texts, beginning with Bharata\u2019s <em>Natya Sastra<\/em>), a course in contemporary dance is also made a part of the course. A project work based on field study is made compulsory to train the student in the field of research in their final semester.
